Offering both support and a springboard to young artists, the fourth Révélations Emerige prize has just been won by Linda Sanchez, an artist from Marseille who embraces new methods in her work on the question of surface and plane. On Tuesday 7 November, a panel of professionals from the art world chose the person to whom, out of 12 artists, they would award the use of a studio, a grant of 15,000 euros to mount a personal exhibition at the galerie Papillon in Paris, and the chance to take part in a group exhibition in The Pill gallery in Istanbul.
A collective show will be dedicated to the selected artists (video, sculpture, painting, installation, among other techniques) on 30 November at the Villa Emerige (Paris, 16th arrondissement) in the context of Gaël Charbau’s exhibition “En forme de vertiges”.
A leading patron of contemporary creation and artistic and cultural programmes, the Emerige group (a major property company in France chaired by Laurent Dumas) is an active contributor to the emergence of young talents. The 750-m2 Villa Emerige has a permanent collection of contemporary art with one eye on the future.
